The Remington IPL5000 i-LIGHT Hair Removal Unit
uses cutting-edge IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Technology - the same used
in professional hair removal clinics.
i-LIGHT safely removes hair for an ultra silky smooth feeling that can
last for up to 12 weeks. Plus its the first home IPL with a
multi-flash mode, making it one of the fastest IPL methods of long
lasting hair removal. When using this mode after about 100 flashes the
unit will go into cool down mode and switch off for aproximately 40
seconds after which you can begin this fast result treatment again.
How The i-LIGHT Works
The i-LIGHT is a hand-held device which emits light energy. This light
energy is absorbed by the coloured pigments (melanin) in the hair
follicle below the skins surface. The energy stuns the follicle and
suppresses hairs re-growth to leave skin soft, smooth and hair free for
up to 3 months.
The i-LIGHT boasts unique multi-flash mode technology for continuous
movement and this, together with the fact it can target larger areas
than laser, ensures its one of the fastest IPL systems available. Our
studies have shown significant hair reduction after only a single
treatment. However, optimal results are generally not obtained with a
single session. For best results, repeat a treatment session whenever
you notice hair starting to regrow.
Results vary by individual, however, most will re-treat areas every two
to three weeks for three treatments until desired results are achieved.
A few days after the first treatment you may start to notice hair has
fallen out. Some hair regrowth will occur that is less dense, finer and
lighter in colour than the original hair. The regrowth is perfectly
normal and should be expected.

Can the i-LIGHT be used on any skin type?
The i-LIGHT is effective on skin types equivalent to the Fitzpatrick
scale 1-4. It is less effective on type 5 as darker skin absorbs energy
from the light meaning the hair follicle is unable to absorb enough of
the energy.
Can i-LIGHT be used on any hair colour?
The i-LIGHT is effective on all hair types but is less effective on
grey, white, red and light blond hair. It is less effective because
these hair types contain less melanin and so do not absorb as much of
the light energy emitted.
